I tend to buy in waves, and my last pickup was the JSP Laney 5. Now, I’ve managed to get a pair of these Air Jordan 5 International Flight Barcelona pre-owned and clean them up.
The shoe is part of a pack celebrating different places MJ has flown to play ball, in this case Barcelona. The shoe features a wacky design on the inner ankle lining and behind the netting on the side, as well as a special International Flight box. As a bonus Easter egg, the Air Jordan typically found on the inside of the tongue has been switched to a more Spanish “Aire Jordan”.
You can probably throw on almost anything and have it look good with these. Light or dark wash blue, grey or black denim will all work with this shoe thanks to the mostly offwhite upper and blue hits. The orange provides a bit of pop as well, but this orange is also what prevents these from necessarily looking great with khakis. I’d also avoid wearing green with these thanks to the blue on the shoe.
This is a super clean pair of 5s if I do say so myself. While I bought mine used, even new pairs are still going for under retail and in my opinion most people are heavily sleeping on these. I think this is one of those colorways that will be sought after down the line!
How Are The Materials?
I personally think the leather is nice on these! It’s soft with an even tumbled finish, as opposed to the inconsistent tumble we get on many Jordan retros. It does have a plush feel to it and is not plasticky or shiny. Otherwise, the shoe is fairly standard for a pair of 5s with the clear sole and 3M tongue. Overall I think materials fiends will be pleasantly surprised by the level of leather used.
How Do They Fit?
These Air Jordan 5 International Flight Barcelona fit true to size. While not the most comfy model Jordan out there, these are wearable for a few hours at a time at true size and provide a base level of comfort. No boost or react or anything like that, but just basic retro basketball sneaker cushioning is provided, as expected.
